Judith Stepan-Norris is professor wmerita of sociology at the University of California, Irvine. Her research addresses U.S. labor unions (union density, internal democracy, politics, effectiveness) and gender equity in higher education. She is the co-author of several books about unions, as well as many scholarly articles.
